Kostmayer demolished the unsalvageable sections of the existing dock and rebuilt the dock with pieces fabricated concurrently in their fabrication yard. The dock’s construction had numerous challenging obstacles including starting with underwater demolition of the pilings that required cutting them at the mud line.

Dock Access Bridge

Kostmayer Construction re-engineered a cost-prohibitive design for a dock access bridge, opting to replace the specified concrete decking that required six supports with three 8’ wide and 100’ long steel trusses, cutting the project cost and timeline in half.

Dock Repair

This project was not a typical dock repair as Kostmayer had the added pressure of keeping five high-producing industrial facilities running because these plants required 14,000 gallons of water pumped per minute and a constant operating pressure of 50-75 psi to run. Any failures in the pumps would cost these plants millions of dollars a day.

Emergency Repair to Coal Conveyor System

Kostmayer performed emergency repairs to a coal conveyor system to stabilize the system until full engineering studies and design schematics were completed. Once the engineering specifications were ready, Kostmayer made permanent repairs to the structure.

Loading Arm Removal

Kostmayer successfully removed and replaced an 81,000 lbs loading arm from a Louisiana chemical facility. The team later placed the arm back in place when the refurbishing was completed.

Cheff Pass

Barge Cover Station

Kostmayer drove 48″ and 60″ piles for a new construction project to cover a marine facility’s barge loading and unloading area. The cover station protected the barge’s cargo when the lids are removed during the unloading process.
